What is NDIS Employment Support?

What does Employment Support cover?

  • SLES (School Leaver Employment Supports): This is for students who are leaving school and need help moving into the workforce.
  • Workplace Supports: Once you're employed, this includes any assistance you might need to do your job to the best of your ability.
  • Employment Related Assessment and Counselling: Professionals can support you in gaining meaningful employment that aligns with your skills and goals.
  • Finding and Keeping a Job: Assistance to get a job and also keep it, by providing ongoing support.
  • Work Readiness and Preparing for Employment: This gets you ready to enter the workforce with confidence.

What type of training and assistance does Employment Support include?

Employment Support can offer many types of training and support including:

 

1. Job Skills Training: Learn new or improve the skills you have to help you in your job.
2. Job Search Help: Get help finding a job that matches what you're good at and what you like to do.
3. Workplace Assistance: Once you have a job, these supports make sure you can do your work well. This might include special equipment or changes to your workplace.
4. Support Workers: Sometimes, a support worker can come with you to your job to help you adjust and do your best.
