What is NDIS Counselling and how can it help someone with a disability?
Counselling is a therapeutic support service that helps NDIS participants develop techniques and skills to strengthen mental health, support emotional regulation skills and achieve individualised goals. It is a capacity-building service designed to support and develop your inner self, enabling you to achieve your goals and gain greater autonomy.
Counselling offers a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss various aspects of your life, allowing you to work through challenges and issues with a trained professional.
While there are many supports available through your NDIS plan, a counsellor offers additional guidance and helps you develop manageable strategies for areas where you might feel overwhelmed or face difficulties.

Counsellors enhance your quality of life by helping you plan, achieve, and process your experiences. Counsellors can assist in developing coping strategies, improving time management, building confidence, and fostering positive perspectives in many areas of your life such as:

- Grief and loss
- Stress, anxiety, and depression
- Emotional regulation

Is Counselling covered in my NDIS plan?
To access counselling services under the NDIS, your plan must include the item ‘Improved Daily Living.’ This category provides funds to access allied health professionals and is generally flexible across other therapeutic services.

Our Client Services team are experienced in finding and connecting NDIS and Aged Care (HCP & SAH) participants to supports with availability.

Karista will then complete the paperwork (with your consent) so you can spend less time on admin and more time on the things that matter.

Extremely helpful in connecting us with an OT and speech therapist after we had rung countless providers and ended up on so many waitlists. Such a relief to finally get support, highly recommend

I went onto the website and put in my information, within two minutes I had a phone call. I spoke to Ellen who was absolutely lovely and did a fantastic job explaining everything I needed to know and making me feel calm in a situation I've never had to navigate before. Definitely recommend this company (and the happy Ellen) to any parent/person who's looking for help in a plan manager.
